Established in 1999, the Kenneth S. Pitzer Center for Theoretical Chemistry is a facility and program to promote excellence in theoretical chemistry by enhancing the education and research of students. The center provides an integrated research environment to foster interactions and collaborations across groups. Named after the distinguished scientist who was the founder of modern theoretical chemistry at Berkeley, the center is located in Gilman Hall and provides 7,250 sq. feet of research space to the students and postdoctoral fellows in the research groups of twelve faculty.
